Dubai Airport receives certification for reducing emissions

Recognized as a world leader, DXB reinforces its commitment to sustainability and Net Zero 2050
Dubai International (DXB) has received Level 4 "Transformation" certification from ACI Airport Carbon Accreditation, a milestone achieved by only 5% of global airports. This award is given to airports that achieve significant emission reductions and promote sustainable change with strategic partners.

The airport has implemented a number of advanced initiatives, including the use of biofuel for the non-electric fleet with dnata and ENOC, which enables an annual reduction of 3,500 tonnes of emissions. Other collaborations, such as the one with BEEAH Group, have reduced waste to landfill by 60%.

The oneDXB Sustainability Alliance is also exploring 180 new decarbonisation projects to create a sustainable impact, supporting the UAE's goal of achieving Net Zero by 2050.

Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, stressed that the level achieved represents an example of sustainable innovation for the airport industry, promoting a culture in which all partners work towards a greener future. Dubai Airports' vision includes not only operational efficiency and resource conservation, but also the adoption of cutting-edge technologies that reduce environmental impact, transforming the airport into a model of sustainability and innovation.
