Belgrade Airport, BEG

Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, also known as Belgrade Surčin Airport, is the main airport in Serbia and is located about 18 kilometers from the city center of Belgrade. The airport is named after the Serbian scientist Nikola Tesla (1856-1943).

Belgrade airport has been managed since 2018 by VINCI Airports (under concession for 25 years) which manages 40 airports on three continents and includes investment plans for the development, improvement and renovation of the Nikola Tesla airport. In 2022 a new part of the terminal with an area of 13,600 m2 was put into operation with several new features such as: a centralized security checkpoint, separate flows for passengers and an open space concept for the waiting rooms.

In 2022, a modern thermal power plant was also inaugurated for the transition from heavy fuels to natural gas, allowing for a 25% reduction in the carbon footprint and a solar power plant from renewable sources (3,000 solar panels) was also put into operation decarbonise airport operations. The goal of VINCI Airports is to achieve zero greenhouse gas emissions in all its airports by 2050.

In Belgrade airport there are various services for passengers including bars, restaurants, shops and duty free. The airport is also very attentive to art, in fact you can admire: the mural "Flight of Icarus and Daedalus in space" which decorates the walls of the hall of Terminal 1 of Nikola Tesla airport, made in 1962 by the painter Miloš Bukinac or on the first floor of Terminal 1, near the border crossing, the mural created by the painter, caricaturist and travel writer Zuko Džumhur.

While staying in Belgrade Airport, you can visit the Aeronautical Museum which is located in a large round building out of space in the middle of the field, surrounded by military and civilian aircraft, radars and other aviation marvels.

The airport serves several destinations thanks to airlines flying to and from Belgrade such as: Air Serbia, Air France, FlyDubai, easyjet, Lufthansa, Norwegian, Pegasus, Qatar, Swiss, Transavia, Turkish Airlines, Wizz Air and others.
