Johannesburg

The O. R. Tambo International Airport is located about 20 km from the city of Johannesburg and offers connections to national and international destinations. It is the largest airport (with a capacity of 28 million passengers a year) and the busiest in Africa (over 21 million passengers a year). It manages direct connections to all continents and is the hub of South African Airways (SAA), the South Africa's largest international and national airline.
 
Johannesburg Airport has several passenger Lounges, high-end duty-free shops, African souvenir shops and, near the airport, there are also luxury hotels.

 

The Gautrain is a fast rail service system available every day, approximately every 12 minutes.

The surrounding hotels offer shuttle bus services to/from the airport. For more information, contact the Airports Company South Africa information desk located at the terminal.

Airport taxis reach Johannesburg and the main cities or suburbs near the airport. For taxis, refer to the information desk of the Airports Company South Africa located at the terminal.

Rent a cars available at the airport with several companies including Avis, Europcar, Hertz or Thrifty.
