Kos International Airport, called "Hippocrates", is situated in the village Antimahia just 27 km from the center of Kos.
The opening of the airport of Kos was in 1964. In 1980, due to an increase in passenger traffic, was inaugurated the new terminal, which also provides for the extension of the runway to 2,400 meters. In 1997 a new building was added to the arrivals terminal of the airport, so the total area of the building reaches 3000 square meters.
