Madeira Airport or Funchal and Madeira Airport is located in Santa Cruz about 18 km from the city of Funchal and, since 1964, has served the Portuguese island of Madeira. Over the years, the airport of Funchal has seen interventions for the modernization and lengthening of the runway which, in 2000, reached a length of 2,781 meters in order to accommodate even large aircraft.
In 2016 the Madeira airport was named after the footballer Cristiano Ronaldo who was born in Funchal, where you can visit his CR7 museum, dedicated to his trophies.
