Ostrava Leos Janacek Airport is the largest regional airport in the Czech Republic.
The airport is conveniently located in the center of Europe, between the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland, about 20 km from Ostrava, the capital of the Moravian Silesian region, and provides an important point of entry into Central and Eastern Europe.
The Moravian Silesian region Government has been the owner of Ostrava Leos Janacek Airport since 2004. In 2006, the airport was renamed after the composer Leos Janacek. The operator of the airport is Letiště Ostrava, a.s., a joint stock company.
