Vilnius

The airport, State Enterprise Vilnius International Airport, is an independent company since 1991, founded by the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania.

The airport is located on a plateau in the south of Vilnius and it is only 7 km, or 15 minutes drive by car, from the centre of the capital. The airport provides aviation and non-aviation services. The aircraft operations at the airport are based on scheduled flights and some are charter flights. Its length of the runway is 2.515 m. As of 1992, Vilnius International Airport is a member of the Airports Council International (ACI Europe) and takes active participation in the international activity of the European airports. 

 

A special train runs from Vilnius Railway Station to the airport. A railway stop is outside the airport’s passenger terminal. A covered pedestrian walkway connects the airport’s terminal to the railway stop and is lit up at night.

The company Toks offers a service to the residents and guests of Vilnius City – a drive by a minibus from the bus station to Vilnius Airport and back.

The airport is only 7 km, or 15 minutes drive by car, from the centre of the capital. To reach Vilnius, proceed to west from Gediminas to Jogailos. Then continue on V. Kudirkos and Švitrigailos. Continue to Dariaus ir Girėno and F. Vaitkaus.

 

Vilnius Airport approved taxi rank, just in front of the arrivals terminal, and that the taxicabs accept credit cards.

 

Vilnius international Airport is served by several car rental companies: Auto Banga, Autocom Lt, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Euro Renta, Hertz, Neorent, Turisticar and Sixt.
