More scheduled flights between Colombo and Dubai with Emirates

Emirates is expanding its Colombo-Dubai route with a new scheduled flight. From 2 January, Emirates has introduced an additional scheduled service between Colombo and Dubai, increasing capacity on the route by 30%. This new flight, operated as EK654/655, is designed to support tourism development plans in Sri Lanka, a country that aims to welcome 3 million visitors by 2025.

 

The new connection is operating six times a week until March 31, with schedules designed to offer greater flexibility and comfort to travelers. Flight EK654 departs Dubai International Airport (DXB) at 10:05 (except Wednesdays), landing at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake at 16:00 local time. Return flight EK655 takes off from Bandaranaike at 22:05, arriving in Dubai at 01:05 the next day.

From 1 April, Emirates will add a seventh weekly flight, completing the daily service. This additional flight will depart Colombo at 22:05, arriving in Dubai at 00:55, while the return flight will take off from Dubai at 13:20 and will arrive in Colombo at 19:15.

 

The additional service is operated with aircraft capable of accommodating up to 360 passengers, offering 8 suites in First Class, 42 seats in Business Class and 310 in Economy Class. This configuration not only ensures a premium flight experience, but also increases choice for customers through a more flexible flight schedule. Currently, Emirates operates two direct flights between Colombo and Dubai, plus a third daily service via Malé, bringing the number of daily flights to Colombo to four.

 

Emirates has been operating in Sri Lanka since April 1986 and has since carried over 12 million passengers to and from Colombo. The airline has also played an essential role in supporting the country's economy, boosting exports and offering a daily cargo capacity of up to 160 tons on flights between Colombo and Dubai. With four daily flights and a total of more than 2,800 seats available per day, Emirates is not only reinforcing its commitment to Sri Lanka, but also remains a key pillar for tourism and trade in the region, helping to build stronger connections between the island and the rest of the world.
