Krakow Airport is the largest regional airport in Poland. It is located in the south of Poland, 11 km west of Kraków. The beginnings of civil aviation at Krakow Airport date back to 1964.
The airport covers a total area of 310 ha, including 27.5 ha managed by John Paul II Krakow-Balice International Airport Ltd. Kraków Airport as a facility is used by both military and civil aviation, with John Paul II Kraków-Balice International Airport Ltd managing the civil part of the airport. On 1997, Krakow-Balice International Airport Ltd. began its operational business. John Paul II Kraków-Balice International Airport Ltd. is the sole shareholder of the following companies: MPL Services Ltd. and Krakow Airport Hotel Ltd. MPL Services Ltd. provides food and beverage, commercial and cleaning services at the terminal buildings, operates car parks and the viewing terrace, and - since 2012 – it also handles airport fees as well as passenger and luggage transport services under the name of Krakow Airport Taxi. Krakow Airport Hotel Ltd. established to carry out the construction of a hotel in the airport area and manage the hotel once it is built. The vision of the John Paul II International Airport Kraków - Balice Ltd. is to become a leader among the European regional airports.

The train service provided by ‘Przewozy Regionalne Sp. z.o.o’ is the fastest link between the centre of Krakow and the airport. Travel time is about 20 minutes. The train station is located 200 m from the T1 international terminal. For travel between the terminals and the station, we advise you to use the free Shuttle Bus service. The Shuttle Bus awaits at the rail station and transports passengers between the international (T1) and the domestic (T2) terminals and then comes back to the station.
