The Stavanger Airport, also known as Sola Airport, is located in the homonymous municipality of Sola, approximately 11 km from the center of Stavanger and Sandnes in Norway. Stavanger Airport offers a wide range of routes and serves as the primary gateway to the Stavanger region.

 

The terminal reflects the culture of the region, from local architecture for shops to the use of furniture and decorations inspired by the North Sea, Norway's longest beaches, and agriculture. Rogaland, the county in which the airport is situated, is renowned as an agricultural region, with 80% of Norway's tomato production taking place in Rogaland. Inside the terminal, there is a greenhouse where tomatoes are cultivated and later enjoyed in Sola's restaurants. Additionally, Sola has been producing honey for several years, which is sold and served as part of the terminal's menu.

 

The airport also promotes events for passengers to create a regional experience, featuring highlights from major regional events such as ONS, the Stavanger Oil Festival, Norwegian chess, the Blinkfestivalen, and the Russ meeting at Kongeparken. Furthermore, from the tower to the terminal, passengers can discover works of art in collaboration with Nuart, one of the world's largest street art festivals. Nearby the airport, there is also an aviation museum, the Flyhistorisk Museum in Sola.

 

Stavanger Airport plays a significant role as a heliport, providing services for offshore oil facilities in the North Sea. For scheduled flights, the busiest route is Sola-Oslo (Gardermoen), and among the major airlines operating at the airport with flights to multiple destinations are Norwegian and Scandinavian Airlines.

 

The airport offers comfortable services for passengers and families with children, a business lounge (North Sea Lounge for passengers flying with KLM in Business Class, Lufthansa in First Class, Widerøe, or Air Baltic), as well as restaurants, cafes, and Tax-Free shopping areas before the flight.
