Arrivals at Nicelli Airport on the Lido of Venice are growing
A strategic hub of reference for private and luxury aviation, it continues to strengthen its position with flight growth and international market expansion
Nicelli Airport on the Lido of Venice recorded significant growth in revenues from air traffic, marking an increase of 10% in the first nine months of the year compared to the same period of the previous year. Arrivals in the corporate sector are growing, also from Italy. According to Maurizio Luigi Garbisa, President of the airport management company, this result reflects the strengthening of the airport as a strategic hub for private and corporate aviation in Europe. The Nicelli confirms itself as a reference point for private and luxury aviation, with a growth in flights and a significant expansion of the international market.

In particular, the business and corporate sector led the increase in revenues, contributing significantly to the positive result. However, flights operated by small aircraft under 2 tons were negatively affected by unfavorable weather conditions, which reduced the volume of traffic for this category.
At the same time, the airport recorded a significant increase in arrivals from countries such as Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary, demonstrating a growing diversification of the markets served. Despite international expansion, the main countries of origin of passengers at Venice Lido Nicelli Airport continue to be Germany, Austria and Switzerland, which remain the main contributors to international traffic arriving at Venice Lido.

Another noteworthy change concerns the evolution of the composition of customers. If in the past traffic was equally divided between Italian and international passengers, now we are witnessing a clear dominance of international arrivals. This trend, as pointed out by President Garbisa, reflects the growing interest of the foreign public in private aviation and in the convenience offered by Venice Lido Airport.
