Amato Daniele: Milan Fashion Week-Women's Collection FW 2021-22

Bags and jewels for an exciting collection that celebrates the fascinating Asian atmospheres

Always being fascinated by the imagery and portrayal of the Chinese dragon, Amato Daniele dedicates part of his Fall-Winter 2021/22 collection to this mythical creature which, symbolizing creativity and family heritage, perfectly embodies the designer’s style where novelties and tradition coexist.

Besides the traditional manufacturing techniques of the Milanese leather-good school and classical styles belonging to the company archive, the collection also presents new materials (as an oriental-appeal brocade floral fabric) and unique processing techniques.

The most significant one is a pleating developed by Daniele and his sister Fulvia, the prototyping manager, which characterizes the flagship model of the collection: a straight-line mini handbag with front and back embellished by handmade pleatings on calf, satin and crocodile.

Animals are the main characters of this season, especially those recalling Daniele’s childhood imagination, which are also the dearest ones to him. We therefore find embroidered Chinese dragons in golden lurex on velvet panels and metal parts inspired by crocodiles: croco paws as feet for the bag bottom and croco heads as ornaments for the bag flap.

Purposely designed and developed for this collection, the croco-inspired metal parts enrich handbags and pochettes in olive green and grey printed croco, bottle green calf and dark emerald Porosus crocodile. A capsule of “little crocodiles” thought for strong and independent women who are not afraid to dare.

The Fall Winter 2021/22 collection consists of handmade timeless pieces, which prove the designer’s eye for detail, from the selection of materials (velvet, nappa, leather and croco printed calf) to the development of embroideries and metal accessories. The color palette perfectly recalls the Asian atmosphere that inspired the collection with red, green, navy blue and black all matching with gold accessories and details.

Milestone, that perfectly recalls the brand identity, is the Mesh: a fabric made up of loom‐intertwined metal threads covered in real 24 kt gold and

925 silver which gives a touch of elegance and exclusivity to the collection. Besides the already known Mesh velvet version, presented this season with gold and silver threads mixed with black velvet ribbons, for this collection two new variants have been developed: one with calf strings and one in gold/silver with a brand-new chain pattern.

To complete the collection, a long-thought new project: converting the bag metal accessories in real jewels to be worn to complete the outfits. This is how the first ever Amato Daniele jewellery capsule collection comes to life.

The aim is to give new life to closures, bottom feet and ornaments turning them into super trendy brooches, bracelets, necklaces and charms. All Amato Daniele jewels are in brass plated 24kt gold and perfectly match the bags. The result is an exciting collection that celebrates the fascinating Asian atmospheres.
