Direct flights from Malpensa to Hanoi
First connection between Italy and Vietnam with three weekly frequencies, operated by Vietnam Airlines
From 1 July 2025, Milan Malpensa Airport will inaugurate the first direct flight from Milan to Vietnam, connecting Italy to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, with a frequency of three weekly flights (Tuesday, Friday and Saturday), operated by Vietnam Airlines with Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
This new connection strengthens trade relations between the two countries and represents a significant milestone for SEA, which has promoted the project in recent years, including through a Memorandum of Understanding with Vietnamese airports signed in 2022. With the increase in tourist flows between Italy and Vietnam and a growth in air traffic to Indochina which has already surpassed pre-pandemic levels, this direct flight represents a new development opportunity for both nations.
Armando Brunini, CEO of SEA Aeroporti di Milano, underlines the importance of this new route, which positions Milan Malpensa as a strategic hub for the development of air traffic between Italy and Vietnam.
Vietnam Airlines President and CEO Le Hong Ha said that this new route will not only improve connectivity for Italian travelers, but also attract passengers from all over Europe, strengthening economic and cultural ties between the two countries.
