At Genoa Airport new routes for the summer season
The 2025 summer season opens with a significant expansion of the offer for Genoa's Cristoforo Colombo Airport, which confirms its growth trend with over 1,240,000 seats available, marking an increase of about 170,000 seats compared to the last summer season (+16%).
Starting from Sunday 30 March, the start date of the season, Genoa City Airport enriches its network both with new international routes and with the increase in frequencies on already active connections, consolidating its role as a strategic gateway to the North-West of Italy.
New flights to Poland
From 1 May, Wizz Air will inaugurate the new flight to Warsaw, which will connect Genoa to Poland for the first time. The connection is operated with three weekly frequencies: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Starting from Tuesday 17 June, it is the turn of Krakow, again with Wizz Air and always with three flights a week on the same days: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The route to Budapest, introduced in the 2024/2025 winter season, has also been confirmed, which continues to be operated by the Hungarian company with three weekly frequencies.
Strengthening existing links
Important upgrades are also planned for some routes already operational:
- The connection to Paris (Orly) operated by Volotea sees a doubling of frequencies in the months of April, May, June, September and October, from two to four weekly flights.
- Flights to Barcelona, operated by Vueling, are increasing progressively: 5 flights per week from mid-May; 6 weekly flights in July; daily frequency throughout the month of August and until the first week of September.
Seasonal returns and consolidated connections
Seasonal flights operated by Ryanair to: Brindisi, Bucharest and Manchester are also back.
The connection to Copenhagen, operated by SAS Scandinavian Airlines, and the summer flight to Olbia with ITA Airways, which joins the one already operated by Volotea, have also been confirmed.
Daily connections also remain active on: Amsterdam, with KLM; Munich, with Air Dolomiti - Lufthansa.
Restart of charter flights for cruise passengers
One of the most relevant news of summer 2025 is the resumption of charter flights dedicated to cruise traffic, three years after the last operation of this type at Genoa Airport. A total of about 200 aircraft movements (round trip flights) are expected, with connections to major German cities and a total handling of over 30,000 passengers.
