Sacbo invests in environmental mitigation

The management company of Milan Bergamo Airport allocates 4.1 million for the benefit of 211 housing units located in the Municipalities of Bergamo, Grassobbio, Orio al Serio and Seriate

"SACBO's commitment to environmental sustainability continues, which is expressed in this case with the new chapter of mitigation works for residential residences most exposed to the acoustic footprint, while continuing to implement all solutions to improve the impact generated by aeronautical activity, including through the efficient management of flights and the progressive modernization of airline fleets - declares the president of SACBO, Giovanni Sanga - We have embarked on the path with a view to sustainability, convinced that we can generate satisfactory results and respond to the demands of stakeholders, producing the expected benefits and continuing to certify Bergamo airport at the top of European standards".

The Board of Directors of SACBO has approved the plan for the implementation of environmental mitigation interventions on residential buildings in the municipalities around the airport and found to need acoustic insulation, based on the assessments carried out by the Institute for Building Technologies of the National Research Council.

The related call, the fourth in addition to the previous ones that have so far made it possible to intervene on about 550 homes for a total investment of 10 million euros to be borne by Sacbo, provides for a further allocation of 4.1 million for the benefit of 211 housing units located in the municipalities of Bergamo (62), Grassobbio (43), Orio al Serio (99) and Seriate (7).

The sum invested by Sacbo is divided into interventions to replace the fixtures (for a corresponding value of 2,785,000 euros), to improve soundproofing, and installation of air conditioning systems (for 1 million 313 thousand euros).
