Café Iruña Berria opens its doors at Bilbao Airport

Lagardère Travel Retail announces the opening of the Café Iruña Berria at Bilbao Airport, located in the central square of the departures terminal. This new venue is a reference point for travelers looking for an authentic and high-quality gastronomic experience.

Inspired by Bilbao's iconic Café Iruña, the new space adds the term "Berria" (meaning "new" in Basque) symbolizing evolution and adaptation to modern times and the airport environment. Thanks to the collaboration between Lagardère Travel Retail, the brand and the design team, the welcoming and timeless essence of Café Iruña has been preserved, integrating contemporary elements that strengthen the emotional bond with visitors. Every detail, from the decorative mosaics to the lanterns, from the arches to the mirrors and green plants, has been taken care of to tell a story and create a unique environment.

The culinary offer of Café Iruña Berria celebrates the local gastronomic tradition. With an open kitchen, customers can watch the dishes being prepared live, all freshly made without the use of pre-packaged products. Under the guidance of chef Óscar Soladrero, the menu features specialties such as the 500g grilled Txuleta , stewed veal cheeks, salmon tacos in citrus sauce, braised vegetables and the renowned cheese cake with Gorgonzola, designed to delight even the most demanding palates.
