Starbucks at Heathrow
The point of sale at Terminal 5 promises fast service and an immersive experience for travelers.
Starbucks and Heathrow have opened the busiest Starbucks in the UK at Terminal 5. With an area of 23 square meters, the venue offers 50 seats and nine coffee machines, capable of serving hundreds of customers every hour in transit to their gates.
The new store at Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5 is considered Starbucks' landmark at the country's main airport . Given the importance of serving customers quickly, especially those with an upcoming flight, the store's design has been optimized for quick and easy service. It is also designed to handle the growing number of customers in the future.
The UK remains a key market for Starbucks, and this opening represents a major step forward in growth and investment plans, in partnership with long-standing licensees such as SSP. The aim is to bring the iconic Starbucks experience to more people across the UK, both in local communities and at stops during travel.
This opening builds on the long-term partnership between SSP and Starbucks, which began 17 years ago. The first joint store opened at Heathrow in 2012, and SSP now operates four in the terminals. This store demonstrates the shared commitment to satisfying customers wherever they are, such as at Terminal 5, as well as the innovations and designs of the new store format. This summer, Heathrow expects to break more records with around 30 million passengers in transit, after serving a record 81.5 million passengers in the 12 months to May.
Inspired by the natural landscapes of coffee-growing regions, the new store is designed to offer an immersive experience focused on the centrally located café. The curved layered ceiling recalls the mountainous terrain of coffee plantations, complemented by a range of natural colors. There are also clear routes to help passengers navigate through the store quickly and efficiently, whether they're ordering takeout or consuming on the spot.
Embracing the spirit of summer, passengers are invited to enjoy Starbucks' summer menu which includes the new Iced White Mocha with Strawberry Cream Cold Foam, Iced Caramel Latte with Crème Brulée Cream Cold Foam, Pink Coconut Starbucks Refresha® drink with Matcha Cream Cold Foam, Cold Brew with Cookies and Cream, Cream Cold Foam, and Iced White Chocolate Pistachio Oat Shaken Espresso. Starbucks® UK serves a wide range of alternative options to milk for free.
