Volotea leader in passenger satisfaction
Record customer service improvements and prestigious international awards in 2024
Volotea, the airline specializing in connecting medium-sized and small European cities, closed 2024 with exceptional results, achieving a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 39.2 at the network level, up 7.4 points compared to 2023. Among the members of the Megavolotea program, the score reaches 50.5, the highest value among the main European airlines. In Italy, Volotea recorded an NPS of 42.1, an increase of 8 points, reaching 53.9 for the most loyal customers.
What is NPS and why does it matter?
The Net Promoter Score measures customer satisfaction and loyalty based on the likelihood of recommending the company. With an average score of 39.2 and peaks of more than 50 among frequent flyers, Volotea ranks well above the airline industry benchmark, which stands at around 25 points. Volotea demonstrates how a constant focus on the customer experience can transform a low-cost airline into a model of excellence on the European scene.
Success based on innovation and punctuality
These results are the result of a targeted approach to continuous improvement, built on passenger feedback. In 2024, Volotea obtained:
- Punctuality (OTP15) above 75%, with flights arriving within 15 minutes of the scheduled time.
- Completion factor of 99.5%, ranking second in Europe according to Cirium data.
Optimized services for a superior experience
The company has introduced several operational improvements:
- At airports, faster processes, expanded self-handling and priority boarding procedures have reduced waiting times.
- On board, more space between seats , reclining seats and attention to detail, such as lighting, music, catering and cleanliness, made flights more comfortable and appreciated.
These interventions have led 9 out of 10 passengers to recommend Volotea to friends and family, underlining the company's commitment to offering a service that combines quality and competitive fares.
Recognition and awards
2024 was a year of confirmations for Volotea, which was awarded as:
- "Best Low-Cost Airline in Europe" for the second year in a row at Skytrax's World Airline Awards, known as the "Oscars of Aviation".
- "Europe's Leading Low-Cost Airline" at the World Travel Awards, an award also received in 2021 and 2022.
- Rated 4 out of 5 stars by Skytrax.
Alex de Jesús, Chief Experience Officer of Volotea, said that the airline stands out for its balance between competitive fares and high-quality service and that these extraordinary results are thanks to the commitment of the teams, who have made an excellent and safe travel experience possible. The goal is to continue to innovate to maintain passenger trust and consolidate Volotea's role as a leader in the sector.
