Volotea: two years of success at Florence airport

The Volotea base in Florence is two years old: 13 routes, new partnerships and record performance on punctuality and customer satisfaction

The Volotea base at Florence's Amerigo Vespucci airport is two years old, celebrating a path of continuous growth, increasingly widespread connections and an increasingly close relationship with the Tuscan territory. Since its inauguration in April 2023, the company has invested in routes, employment and sustainable mobility projects, becoming a benchmark for regional connectivity.

Today, Volotea employs around 30 people at the Florentine base, supporting the local economy and promoting responsible tourism. The company is also a partner in the #EnjoyRespectFirenze project, promoted by the Municipality to raise awareness among visitors of a more sustainable and conscious approach to the city.

For the current year, Volotea has put on sale almost 400,000 seats from Florence, an increase of 3% compared to 2024, with 2,600 total flights and a network of 13 routes, of which 12 are operated exclusively. The offer is divided in a balanced way between domestic destinations (51%) and Italian and European islands (49%).

Domestic routes include:

  • Bari (seasonal for Easter)
  • Cagliari, Catania, Olbia, Palermo
  • New connection to Alghero starting from 6 July.

International routes from Florence connect Tuscany with:

  • France: Bordeaux, Lyon, Nantes, Toulouse
  • Spain: Bilbao
  • Germany: Hamburg
  • Czech Republic: Prague.

In parallel, Volotea also confirms flights from Pisa airport to Olbia and Nantes, expanding coverage for the entire region.

In 2024, the Florentine base recorded excellent results in terms of passenger satisfaction and operational performance. The NPS (Net Promoter Score) reached 46.0, rising to 56.1 in the first quarter of 2025 and placing Florence in the Top 3 of the Italian bases for customer satisfaction and the punctuality data are also significant. Numbers that reflect the company's growing reliability and attention to continuous service improvement.

The consolidation of the Florence base is the result of a strategy that goes beyond air transport: it involves the territory, enhances local resources and promotes a sustainable mobility model. Thanks to the collaboration with Toscana Aeroporti and the city institutions, Volotea is preparing to face the new challenges of 2025 by focusing on innovation, quality and shared development.
