ADR announces the partnership between UrbanV and Cluster2
UrbanV (Italian manager of vertiport networks) and Cluster2 (airport operator that manages 22 airports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) together to develop Advanced Air Mobility and Urban Air Mobility in Saudi Arabia
The two companies, leaders in their respective sectors, have partnered to promote and develop the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) ecosystem in the Cluster2 airport network, in view of the implementation of commercial flights in Saudi Arabia. At the same time, the companies will conduct comprehensive feasibility studies to integrate AAM solutions into the airports operated by Cluster2 Airports, in compliance with the regulations established by the General Authority for Civil Aviation of Saudi Arabia, the highest safety standards and environmental sustainability objectives.
The partnership also provides for UrbanV to make its expertise in the AAM sector available, offering training programs, specialized technical knowledge and collaborating with stakeholders. In the initial phase, the two companies will launch pilot programs aimed at introducing services based on electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, with dedicated applications, including health emergencies, VIP transport and cargo logistics. These pilots will serve as tests to evaluate the operational integration of AAM in real-world settings.
Both companies are committed to supporting Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 and its ambitious sustainability goals, including the adoption of zero-emission eVTOL vehicles and the creation of eco-friendly vertiports.
Carlo Tursi, CEO of UrbanV, said: "As UrbanV we aim to improve people's lives by offering a fast, efficient, safe and environmentally friendly alternative to existing transport solutions for air transport of goods and people over short distances. We aspire to become a leading global operator of vertiport networks and will be global pioneers in defining the world's first advanced air mobility routes . We are excited to partner with Cluster2, a major player in the airport management industry, and look forward to exploring with them the great potential of Advanced Air Mobility in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."
Ali Masrahi, CEO of Cluster2 Airports, added: "We are delighted to sign this partnership, as it is through partnerships of this type that we aim to manifest our presence and take a leadership role in the search for solutions for AAM. In addition, we want to create an integrated ecosystem for our various airports in the Kingdom and at the same time highlight that all our airports are environmentally sustainable. I would also like to underline that Cluster2 Airports seeks to achieve its strategic objectives by increasing the annual number of passengers, offering connections between the three continents (Asia, Europe, Africa) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, meeting the needs of affiliated airports in terms of passengers and increasing the number of international airlines using airports within the Kingdom".
