Dubai Airports achieves ACI Level 4 accreditation

DXB among the few airports in the world awarded for the absolute reduction of emissions and for the ability to drive environmental change

Dubai International Airport (DXB) has officially received the "Level 4 - Transformation" recognition of the Airport Carbon Accreditation by Airports Council International (ACI) at the ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Regional Assembly.

Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, collected the accreditation. This milestone confirms DXB among the few airports in the world awarded for the absolute reduction of emissions and for the ability to drive environmental change by actively involving all the players in the airport ecosystem.

The recognition, which coincided with Earth Day, underlines Dubai Airports' concrete progress towards the UAE's goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. The long-term decarbonization strategy is already operational through initiatives that include improving the energy efficiency of infrastructure, installing the largest rooftop solar photovoltaic system at an airport in the region (Terminal 2), introducing systems for converting waste into compost and adopting biodiesel fuels for airside vehicles.

Through the "oneDXB Sustainability Alliance" collaborative platform, Dubai Airports also works with partners to reduce emissions in all airport operating areas, strengthening its leading role in the sustainable transition of the aviation sector.
