New Alghero-Sofia route with Wizz Air
From 19 June 2025, two weekly connections between Sardinia and Bulgaria. The new flight joins those to Bucharest and Budapest already served by the carrier from Alghero airport
Wizz Air announces the launch of a new flight between Alghero and Sofia, operational from 19 June 2025. The connection will be active twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays. This new route offers passengers the chance to discover Sofia, a fascinating capital where history and modernity meet. From Roman ruins to Byzantine churches, theaters, art galleries and vibrant nightlife, Sofia is a perfect destination for those looking for culture, nature and gastronomy. Outdoor enthusiasts can also explore the Vitosha Mountains, which are ideal for hiking and winter sports.
At the same time, the flight offers a unique opportunity for Bulgarian travelers to reach Sardinia, an island renowned for its crystal-clear beaches, unspoiled nature, and historic villages. Alghero enchants visitors with its Catalan charm, medieval old town and spectacular sea cliffs.
Wizz Air's flights will be operated with the modern Airbus A321neo with 230 seats and a reduced environmental impact.
