Antalya Airport expansion

New terminals and infrastructure to support the growth of international tourism on Turkey's Mediterranean coast

The first phase of the ambitious expansion project of Antalya Airport (AYT), one of the main tourist airports in the Mediterranean, has been successfully completed. The project company consisting of Fraport AG and TAV Airports Holding has completed a major infrastructure project in less than three years: the expansion of the international Terminal 2 to 132,000 m² and the addition of 38,000 m² to the domestic Terminal.

In 2024, the airport recorded over 38 million passengers, an increase of 6.5% compared to 2023, marking a new all-time record. This result confirms the key role of the airport as a privileged gateway to Antalya and the Turkish Riviera, and underlines the strategic importance of the investment, which amounts to approximately 850 million euros.

Among the main innovations, the introduction of a new food & beverage offer created by "Best Food for All" (BFA), a joint venture between Fraport and a company specializing in airport catering. Currently, travelers can choose from 29 restaurants with proposals ranging from quick snacks to Turkish specialties, passing through the most well-known international chains.

The project also included new taxiways, additional parking and other support facilities. The next phase involves the delivery of a new air traffic control tower by 2026, thus completing the infrastructure upgrade envisaged in the plan.

Today, more than 100 airlines connect Antalya Airport (AYT) to nearly 250 destinations worldwide.

Fraport has been active in Antalya since 1999. In 2021, together with TAV Airports Holding, it was awarded a new concession valid until 2051, the operational phase of which will begin on 1 January 2027 and will include the management of the terminal, ground services and commercial activities.
