Cagliari Airport celebrates the art and traditions of Sardinia
The 'Artisans at the airport' event is the showcase of excellence of art and traditions that make Sardinia a unique reference in the panorama of international craftsmanship
Today and tomorrow, 18 and 19 December, Cagliari Airport is transformed into an exceptional showcase to celebrate the art, craftsmanship and traditionsthat make Sardinia a unique point of reference in the panorama of international craftsmanship. The "Artisans at the airport" event, organized in collaboration with the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, aims to enhance the best of the island's handicraft production, offering the many Italian and foreign passengers an authentic and immersive experience during the Christmas period. The event aims to introduce local arts, crafts and traditions to a wide audience, transforming the Cagliari airport into a real cultural stage.

32 Sardinian master craftsmen
The initiative is spread over an area of about 200 square meters on the Departures floor of the terminal, where it is possible to admire the works of 32 carefully selected master craftsmen. The artisans represent the different categories of Sardinian artistic craftsmanship: ceramics, weaving, metalworking and jewelry, glass and leather. These artists, already protagonists of the ISOLA Boutique at Cagliari Airport and part of the "Showcase of artistic craftsmanship" project promoted by the Department of Tourism, Crafts and Commerce of the Sardinia Region, will have the opportunity to present and tell their creations directly to the public from 10:00 to 17:00.
A journey into the flavors and crafts of the Sardinian tradition
To enrich the experience of the event, alongside the artisans there are the masters of traditional Sardinian culinary arts:
- a nougat maker, with the production of the famous Sardinian nougat,
- a cheesemaker, an expert in the processing of local Sardinian cheeses,
- a pasta maker, which shows the making of the typical pasta of Sardinia,
- a baker, specialized in traditional Sardinian bread,
- a producer of "Sa Carapigna", the ancient Sardinian lemon granita.

These masters will offer live demonstrations, accompanied by tastings of typical products that will make passengers experience a real sensory journey to discover the authentic flavors of Sardinia. An unmissable opportunity to immerse yourself in the food and wine culture of the island.
Engaging activities and exclusive rewards for passengers
To further involve passengers, the event also includes gamification activities, designed to entertain and intrigue participants. Those who take part in the initiatives can become a true "Ambassador of Sardinia" and have the opportunity to receive one of the 100 exclusive works of ISOLA craftsmanship, a symbol of Sardinian craftsmanship excellence. With this event, Cagliari Airport becomes a meeting place between tradition, culture and creativity for two days, transforming the wait into an authentic and memorable experience.
