Growing traffic for Cagliari Airport
Positive numbers for the airport's Summer 2024 with 81 routes (33 domestic and 48 international), 20 airlines and 68 destinations in 19 connected countries
Cagliari Airport recorded very positive numbers for summer 2024, with an offer of 81 routes, including 33 domestic and 48 international, operated by 20 airlines to 68 destinations in 19 countries. Between April and July, the main Sardinian airport saw over 2 million passengers transit between arrivals and departures.
The month of July marked a record, with over 600 thousand travelers, exceeding the numbers of July 2023 by about 31,600 units (+5.1%). This increase has set a new monthly record for the airport.

The monthly figures were also significant in the previous months: April closed with 419,742 passengers, May with 479,661, and June with 564,198. Overall, the 646,267 passengers in July bring the total number of passengers for this first part of the summer to 2,109,868.
In the period January-July 2024, the airport totaled 2,890,747 passengers, marking a growth of 7% compared to the same period in 2023. This result is the result of excellent performance on both domestic (+6.2%) and international (+9.3%) routes.
Fabio Mereu, CEO of the Cagliari Airport management company, expressed optimism about the closure of the summer, predicting that growth will positively affect passenger traffic throughout 2024. He also hoped that the increase in tourist flows in Southern Sardinia could bring concrete benefits to the entire regional tourism system.
